[Unity 2022.3.5f1] Higan (World Mirroring Game) - Pass the Game Jam Day 3
A downloadable project

The overall theme I wanted to take the direction of this project was to create a story-driven puzzle game, with the story being of someone who passed away and must travel across the "higan", or other side of the shore. The term higan is used sometimes to describe going onto the afterlife.
The changes I made were to include basic NPCs who you can talk to, expanding on the world-reflection mechanics by adding world layers that only appear in the mirrored or non-mirrored worlds, I added a title screen, and I added some 3d models for characters. Unfortunately I didn't get to finish doing everything I wanted to do, like setting up animations for the characters (I've never done model animation in Unity before RIP) but the characters are fully rigged, so if you're familar with the system, you can just drag-and-drop the models into Mixamo and do that.
Tips for future devs:
- If you create a new level, it's easier to just copy Level 1 and then editing it from there, as there's a lot of setup to do.
- Make sure to put mirror-world objects, non-mirror-world objects, and shared objects into the proper layers under the Environment object! The heirarchy is important for everything to work as intended.
- If you create a new material: Make sure the shader is Shader Graphs/World
- NPCs have to reference the textbox UI, so if no text appears, that's probably why
- The models are fully rigged already, I just couldn't get animations to work in Unity - if you put them into Mixamo though, they are compatible
